Getting ready for Wheel



Getting into wheel pose requires a lot of concentration. When I first tried wheel I did it with brute force! Yikes..this is very dangerous for the lower back!
Now I mindfully get into the pose. There is so much going on before the pose...grounding the feet, relaxing the glutes, isometrically squeezing the inner thighs together, lifting the heart, consciously opening the heart....
This pose should only be done with "no harm" the first limb of ashtanga yoga. (I got this idea from Arline Jernigan...thanks Arline!)
